If you’ve never been to Bedok Reservoir, you may only know it by its spooky reputation; testified by the fact that “Is Bedok Reservoir haunted?” shows up as the second most searched item when Googling the place.
But let’s not forget that this charming park is chock-full of things to do, whether for the adrenaline junkies or the ardent cafe-hoppers. Take it from me, I grew up here!
It’s rare to find the 4.3KM gravel track that circles the reservoir void of cyclists and joggers alike. But if these activities are too mainstream for you, try your hand at fishing, available at any designated fishing spot, or for the adventurous, a treetop obstacle course and water sports.
Forest Adventure offers three different obstacle courses: the Grand course; the Junior course; and the Kids course, all of which include a variety of high elements suitable for all ages.
With rates starting from $39, this may be the go-to place to unlock your inner Tarzan. You can also try their Buddy Package (from $180) for 4 pax and enjoy 10% off.
If all the climbing, falling, and swinging isn’t enough for you, Forest Adventure also has The Big Zip, a 300M-long zip line that spans over the water. With a birds-eye view of the reservoir, sit tight and enjoy the exhilarating experience of flying through the air.

Water sports enthusiasts will be pleased to know that PAssionWaVe@Bedok Reservoir offers kayaking rentals starting from $10 for 2 hours. PassionCard members can also enjoy a promotional rate of $9 for 2 hours! Both single and double kayaks are available so you and your kaki can try kayaking together.

The reservoir is full of quiet places to relax and catch the sunset, from the fishing docks to the benches peppered all around the park.
With the cascading waves and lush trees lining the horizon, it’s easy to forget that just behind you is a bustling main road lined with HDBs, condos, and supermarkets.

A popular spot for photographers and bird-watchers alike, the park’s abundance of wildlife means that there is always something new to see at every corner. In fact, if you’re lucky, you’ll catch sight of otters too!
You may be surprised to find that the park holds its fair share of quaint cafes and late-night dine-ins. A nearby McDonald’s and prata shop aside, Reservoir Village – parked just outside the reservoir – is home to hidden gems offering brunch fare, ice cream, and more.

A popular spot for those living nearby, Refuel Cafe boasts fairly affordable prices for typical cafe food. With its air-conditioned interior and a generous variety of drinks that average at about $5.50, it’s a fantastic place to rest after clocking in some exercise. Just a warning that queues can get quite long so a reservation is always recommended.

For some late-night options, Haute and Cauld is an ice cream shop that’s open till 2AM. With both hot and cold options (get it?), this little ice cream place makes a well-rounded supper spot with its menu of charcoal waffles (from $7.90) and interesting ice cream flavours, like Yubari Rock Melon, and Bubbleyum Grape (from $3.80, +$1.50 for premium flavours).

Wawawa is a bistro located within the park itself, and is often praised for its beautiful views. The menu consists of mostly Western nosh like pizza, burgers and fries, but does have some Asian options like their Spring Rolls & Samosa ($7.20) to satisfy all cravings.
While there, you should also try their Wawawa Chocolate Lava Cake ($11.80), served with a scoop of ice cream to cool you down on a hot day. Food aside, the calming ambience and great view alone makes it more than worth the experience.

For all the non-Easties out there dreading a long MRT ride just to head over, you’ll find that Bedok Reservoir is actually quite accessible. Tucked between Bedok and Tampines, the park is within easy reach from civilization via bus and train. Its many park connectors also make it easy for cyclists to visit.

For those coming by car, take the PIE and exit at Bedok North Ave 3 before turning into Bedok Reservoir Road towards Carpark A.
