If you’ve ever spent Christmas abroad, you may have experienced the joys of winter like playing in the snow or warming up by a fireplace. Singapore remains snowless, but it sure makes up for it with its over-the-top festivities and dazzling Christmas lights that can make us momentarily forget that we’re spending the holidays in 32°C weather. 

To get into the festive mood, here are some of the best places to see Christmas lights and decorations in 2021.

1. Raffles City – Giant BE@RBRICK displays

Fans of Japanese toy collection BE@RBRICK would want to head straight to Raffles City. Located right by the cross junction at Stamford Road, this 5.6M-tall installment is the tallest in the world, making it pretty monumental. There are also giant candy canes and a golden rocket ship as part of the display, making it a fun spot for some quirky festive OOTDs.

2. Gardens by the Bay – Fairytale exhibits with a 10M “castle”

Gardens by the Bay’s Christmas Wonderland will have you giddy with joy with its light displays, which honestly look like a real-life fairytale. From horse carriages and an enchanted bridge to a magical 10M-tall castle, this event is ideal for both families and couples looking to get into the holiday spirit.

This event will be running till January 2022 and tickets can be purchased from the Christmas Wonderland website.

3. Orchard Road – 3.1KM of Xmas lights & AR projection

You can always rely on Orchard Road to have a dazzling array of Christmas lights as part of its yearly affair. 2021’s seasonal theme is “Christmas in Bloom”, and the festive display will start at Tanglin Mall and go all the way to Plaza Singapura – that’s a whopping 3.1KM of decorations.

There’s also a massive outdoor AR projection screen on the side of Mandarin Orchard Singapore. This 10-minute show will run from 8PM – 10.30PM daily – simply download the PopAR app ( iOS | Android) and point it at the display to enjoy some cool AR effects.

4. CapitaLand Malls – Adorable Molly Doll photo ops



A Jolly Molly Christmas at Bugis Junction

CapitaLand malls around Singapore will be featuring giant Molly Doll displays in collaboration with POP Mart. These whimsical photo spots can be found at 15 malls across the island from Tampines Mall to Westgate till 31st December 2021.

You can also unlock special AR filters when you visit by scanning the onsite QR codes. Every mall has a different theme to look forward to too – from an astronaut Molly Doll at Funan to IMM’s candyland-themed display.

5. ION Orchard – 18M Chanel globe with constellation-themed decor

Luxury fashion brand Chanel has set up a 18M-tall Chanel “Cosmosphere” right outside ION Orchard to commemorate its iconic No 5 L’Eau scent. This installation doesn’t just look pretty from the outside; you can enter the dome and be treated to an animated light show, which takes place daily on the hour from 8PM – 10PM.

6. Capitol Singapore & CHIJMES – “Igloos”, snowfall and light show


Getting into the holiday mood, Capitol Singapore & CHIJMES has transformed their outdoor plaza area into a mini winter wonderland. With a giant Christmas Singing Tree as the highlight along with an icy “igloo” filled with artificial snow, it’ll feel as if you’ve been teleported to the North Pole for Christmas.

Stay until dark to spot the Christmas light projection at The Lawn, set against the backdrop of the majestic CHIJMES Hall. You can even dedicate a message to your loved ones and watch it appear on the light display.

7. Wisma Atria – Alice in Wonderland-themed display

Fans of Alice in Wonderland will be delighted to know that Wisma Atria has an entire showpiece based on the book, complete with checkered floors, “floating” tea sets, and a Queen of Hearts-themed Christmas tree.

The White Rabbit also makes a special cameo appearance in the form of a statue that you can snap pictures with.

8. Jewel Changi – Christmas light show



There’ll be “snowfall” here too!

Some of us might not have been to Changi Airport in the past couple of years due to travel restrictions, but there’s now a good reason to visit – and no, it’s not because of VTL. Jewel Changi is having its “Meet The World At Jewel” festivities at the Shiseido Forest Valley from now till 3rd January 2022.

You can expect artificial snowfall, a 16M-tall Christmas tree, and various international landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and the Great Wall of China adorned with fairy lights and Christmas bells. Plus, you can also pop by from 7.30PM – 10.30PM daily to check out the Christmas-themed light show at the Rain Vortex. 

Changi Festive Village

Admission: Spend a minimum of $25 in a single receipt to obtain a same-day entry pass to Shiseido Forest Valley
