Dim Sum Buffet at Hai Tien Lo (海天楼), Pan Pacific

Hai Tien Lo, Pan Pacific

Dim Sum buffets aren’t very common in Singapore, so we were excited to check out Hai Tien Lo’s Weekday Dim Sum Buffet. Do note this Cantonese Fine Dining restaurant exudes a very classy vibe, with impeccable service and Cheongsam clad wait-staff. So if you come in anything less than Smart Casual, you’re going to feel under-dressed.

Yes, look at one of the meeting rooms above! Don’t worry though, they have plenty more casual looking tables for smaller groups.

Previously located on level 37, they were moved to Level 3 after Pan Pacific’s renovation and they also recently revamped their Weekday Dim Sum menu. Guests can be treated to a total of 35 dishes and desserts. The items are prepared a-la-carte, so you can be sure that they come to your table fresh and piping hot.

Here’s a look at some of the highlights.

The Food at Hai Tien Lo

The new menu featured some unique interpretations by Chef Lee Siaw Chee. I loved their Deep-fried Yam Paste with Foie-gras – Chloe didn’t so I happily had hers! Other new items included the Baked Egg Tart with Swiftlet Nest and White Fungus, Steamed Berkshire Pork Buns and Stir-fried Carrot Cake with Dried Scallops in Chef’s Special Homemade XO Chilli Sauce.

The Lobster with Shredded Abalone and Seasonal Green Vegetable in Thick Broth (pictured above) was another highlight. It was generous of them to offer this as a buffet item!

Chloe loved their steamed buns stuffed with Abalone, Minced Pork and Vegetables. Other Hai Tien Lo specialities were the Deep-fried Soft Shell Crab and Homemade Bean Curd with Crab Meat.

Overall, the ambience of Hai Tien Lo is perfect for the working crowd and for those looking to have corporate lunches and meetings. You can leisurely enjoy a dim sum buffet in a classy setting at reasonable prices.

The Weekday Dim Sum buffet priced at $48++ SGD is available from Monday to Friday from 11.30am to 2.30pm.
