Punggol Waterway Park: Instaworthy Bridges & Gardens Worth The MRT Ride To The End Of The N-E Line

Things to do at Punggol Waterway Park

Most people would know Punggol as the ‘ulu’ station at the end of the North-East line, but only true adventurers who’ve traversed the region will know about the gem in the area — Punggol Waterway Park.

With birds, bridges, and photogenic sceneries galore, this 12.25-hectare park is the perfect hideaway to recharge and escape from the busy city.

Scenic photo spots and vantage points

Perhaps the most unique aspects of the park are the many bridges scattered throughout, each with their own unique features. If you don’t feel like walking the distance to visit all the bridges, here are the two with the nicest waterfront views to get the most out of your day here.

Jewel Bridge

Move aside Changi Airport, there’s more than one precious Jewel in town. The Jewel Bridge has an impressive dome-shaped structure and is the perfect place to catch the sun dipping below the horizon come evening time. This is also a good spot to catch all sorts of wildlife from otters to even migratory birds like the Collared Kingfisher and the Black-naped Oriole.

Sunrise Bridge

If you’re someone who enjoys waking up before the break of dawn, head down to the Sunrise Bridge. Like its name suggests, this bridge is on the Eastern side of the park and has a stunning view of the sunrise every morning.

This wavy bridge lines the edge of the waterway and makes for a super unique Instagram photo, so head further down to the raised platform to take a cool shot from above.

Relax amid plants in the therapeutic garden

The first of its kind in the North-East, Punggol Waterway Park’s therapeutic garden can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from ah mas to teenagers.

With a fitness area to get all your #fitspo goals sorted, a wellness zone with aromatic plants like pandan, and a serene view of the waterway, this part of the park is the perfect place to de-stress after a long week at work or school.

Play with sand and water at the Recreation Zone

Whether you’re a parent with young children or simply a child at heart, the sensory sand and water play areas at the park make for a fun time.

Here, children and adults alike can unleash their creativity and build elaborate sandcastles or simply just enjoy the space; after all, sand playgrounds are fairly hard to come by nowadays.

Singaporeans love their water parks to cool down in the heat, so be sure to check out the free water play area at the park too. With water jets shooting at nearly every angle possible, you’re sure to get soaked – so bring an extra set of clothes if you’re looking to pop by.

Things to do at Punggol Waterway Park

With the North Eastern Riverine Loop connecting Punggol Waterway Park to all surrounding parks, this 26KM route is a fun way to explore the North-East side of Singapore.
