GOMO by Singtel Is Giving 6,000+ Meals To Those Who Need It – How To Claim One Or Give To Others

Donate or redeem a meal with GOMO Helpful Meals

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought out the best in Singaporeans, with many going the extra mile to help others during these uncertain times. GOMO by Singtel is also doing their part with GOMO Helpful Meals, an initiative sponsoring more than 6,000 meals worth up to $5 to those in need through local non-profit initiative Belanja Eat and Timbre Group

The initiative simultaneously supports the participating food stalls with 68 hawkers at Timbre+ Food Park and Yishun Park Hawker Centre such as Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang and Hungry Thai.

Belanja means “treat” in Malay, and GOMO will be doing just that – giving more than 6,000 meals to anyone in need. But it doesn’t just stop with them; you can make a difference too. As the Circuit Breaker period winds down, it’s as good a time as ever to show your support and donate.

How it works

Those who need a meal can walk up to stalls with available meals and ask for it – no questions asked. GOMO’s Helpful Meals are available at 68 vendors at Timbre+ and Yishun Park Hawker Centre.

Find a hawker to donate or receive

If you’d like to donate, Belanja Eat’s website has a handy map with partnered vendors for your next tapau trip. Through this initiative, the hawkers are also benefiting from the added source of income, so you’d be helping 2 groups of people with 1 donation.

Using the map to identify the nearest stall with a Belanja Eat poster, you can belanja someone a meal by passing the money directly to the stall holder, and drawing a circle on the poster. The last step is to, of course, spread it all over social media sporting the hashtag #BelanjaEat.

If you’re a hawker or F&B owner who wants to participate, or if you want to sign your favourite zi char stall up, download the poster from their website that’s bundled with a convenient checklist. Once everything’s in order, fill up this form together with a picture of the stall and poster and it’s ready for belanja-ing

What’s more, GOMO is happy to list any hawkers or F&B outlets who need more publicity on their website to help publicise the delicious food! Hungry customers looking for their next meal can also go to singtel.com/gomohelpfulmeals or log into the GOMO App (iOS | Android) to discover new hawker stalls & F&Bs.

GOMO Helpful Meals will give #Savefnbsg a massive boost, but they still need your help to maintain the success of this initiative. In a cycle of support, pay for extra meals at local hawker and F&B stalls, encourage more to join, and spread the word so that those who need the meals will know as well.
