Singapore is a small but densely populated city with one of the most distinctive skylines in the world. Even though we do not have space for vast patches of natural scenery, our soaring skyline and impressive architecture are feasts for a photographer’s eyes.

Most tourists go to the Marina Bay Sands Skypark to enjoy Singapore’s view, but there is a hidden gem which is less popular but offers an impressive view as well at a much cheaper price. 

What The Pinnacle is About

The Pinnacle@Duxton is one of the most iconic housing projects in Singapore’s public housing history, with many unique features that sets it apart from the other HDB housing projects. Located at the site where the first two HDB blocks in that area were built, it is the first 50-storey public housing project in Singapore, housing 1,848 apartments in 7 towering blocks. It is also the tallest public housing in the world. 

What makes The Pinnacle@Duxton special is the two skybridges on the 26th and 50th storey. The skybridge on the 26th storey is only open to residents, whereas the one on the 50th storey is open to both the residents and the public. The skybridge offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Singapore’s city skyline.

How To Get To The Pinnacle

Take the MRT to Outram Park Station and exit from Exit G. Walk along CNB (Central Narcotics Bureau) and cross the first junction you see. The Pinnacle@Duxton is located after the junction.Make sure you have a CEPAS card (or EZ-Link card) with at least a value of $5 inside. Each person needs to have their own card in order to have access to the Skypark. Walk to Block 1G and locate the Self-Service Kiosk Machine. Follow the instructions and pay using your CEPAS card. Take the lift to the 50th storey from any of the blocks and scan your card at any of the turnstile entrances.View from the bottom.

One Of The Best Views In Singapore

The Skybridge located on the Skypark boasts one of the best panoramic views in Singapore. As all the blocks are linked together, visitors can easily walk around and admire the many different faces of Singapore’s scenic skyline with a 360-degree view.

I had originally wanted to photograph the stunning sunset view, but unfortunately, the weather was really bad and all I could see were gloomy clouds and the grey sky. What a pity! Hence, I decided to stay back for a while to take a few photos of Singapore’s night skyline. 

It felt so calming and magical sitting on one of the comfortable seats, seeing the lights switch on one by one and witnessing Singapore’s breathtaking night view slowly forming. The view in front of me resembled a painting, a dark canvas dotted with countless brilliant miniature lights.Singapore’s urban landscape is indeed beautiful, both in the day and at night. So if tourists are looking for a cheaper alternative, do come to Pinnacle@Duxton to check it out! Even locals are encouraged to visit this place too to take a look at our very own unique skyline, which is also one of the best soaring skylines in the world.
