What The Pug: Singapore’s First Pug “Cafe” Where You Can Cuddle & Play With Furballs Along Haji Lane

What The Pug – Singapore’s first pug “cafe”

Pugs are adorable. They’re squishy, cuddly and a ball of fun. We’ve seen plenty of dog cafes and cat cafes in Singapore, but never a cafe dedicated to just pugs. Until now, that is.

If you’re a fan of the wrinkly-faced canines, you’ll be happy to know that What The Pug, Singapore’s first pug “cafe” has recently opened along Haji Lane.

Pet and play with 12 cuddly pugs

What The Pug is home to 12 squishy pugs, each with their own distinct personality and quirks. Each play session costs $20/pax and lasts 45 minutes, and includes a canned drink and souvenir photo.

The session begins with the dogs tucked away behind a small gate, waiting eagerly to greet their new playmates. Seeing the pugs charge out one after another when the owner literally lets the dogs out is sure to induce a serotonin boost.

There are hyper puppies just a little over a year old who are perfect for engaging in more active play with, as well as older dogs above the age of 10 who are great to just sit down and cuddle or chill with.

Whether you’re an outgoing dog lover or someone who’s a little more reserved and unsure, you should be able to meet your match and have a great time.

After your session, you’ll receive a complimentary polaroid photo to commemorate your visit. The owner takes and prints each polaroid, so all you have to do is pick your favourite pug and pose.

Speaking of which, the owner is known to be quite the conversationalist, ever-ready to share stories about the pugs and their adventures. Unlike most animal cafes which are operated by hired staff, What The Pug is owned and operated by the very man who owns all the pugs, so you can be sure he’ll have plenty of tails tales to tell.
