It’s no secret that most country clubs have special rates for members, but Marina Bay Golf Course is the only public 18-hole course, meaning you won’t have to fork out extra for non-membership prices. You can also golf against a chio backdrop of the Singapore skyline and Marina Bay up till 10PM – perfect for an after-work R&R golfing sesh for CBD workers.

Golf courses usually have all sorts of features to ramp up gameplay and make it more exciting, such as bunkers, which are sand-filled concave depressions, or water hazards, which are streams and ponds that you have to hit over. But other than these features, this course is generally flat so beginners can still try their hand at it.

Located right next to the sea, this 9-hole golf club is a peaceful and scenic place for you to soak your troubles away with a round or two of golf.

Note: Changi Golf Club is not open to walk-in visitors for the time-being as part of their Covid-19 measures. Only members, member’s guests, and social golfing members can golf at this course for now.

The most popular one, Bukit Course, is an 18-hole championship course that has hosted various international events, along with a driving range as well as five putting greens to practice your skills.

Alternatively, you can go for the Island Course, a hilly and picturesque 18-hole golf course, and visit their two-tier driving range with 66 practice bays.

If you’re an NSman or a family member of one, the golf courses of National Service Resort & Country Club would make a good option for you as only NSmen can sign up for the memberships here. 

They have two courses available: the main one is located in Changi, next to their big bungalow chalets and many other facilities so you can play during a staycay. However, you can also visit the course at Kranji if it is more convenient for a quick round of golf.

Equipment rental: No, but you can visit the Transview Pro-Shop or Golftitude Fitting Studio for equipment and accessories.

10. Sembawang Country Club – located in the heartlands

However, this course is deemed rather difficult with narrow fairways, multiple water hazards and bunkers packed within the short distance of just a little over 200m, making it a spot for the higher-level golfers among us.

Undulating streams and palm trees are characteristic of this driving range too, so you don’t have to practice your swings looking upon a whole stretch of green.
