12 Doctor Consultation Options From Home If You’re Low Key Sick But Too Scared To Go To GP

Doctor consultation options in Singapore

Clinics can be dreadful sometimes with long waiting queues, people coughing in the waiting area and not to mention the large bill at the end – all whilst you’re sick! It’s even worse during outbreaks like the COVID-19 outbreak as the fear of stepping into a room full of sick people is multiplied.

Enter telemedicine, a revolutionary service with affordable prices from $18, medication and MC delivery, reliable doctors and in-app summaries for when you only have a fever and need some pills and a day-off. It’s as simple as downloading or calling them and requesting for either an online doctor consultation, house call or any other service you might need.

Healthway Medical is a widely recognisable name, with its nearly 100 clinics in Singapore. But if visiting one isn’t the most convenient, you can find the same services on their telemedicine app.

Download the app to book consultations with general practitioners for common illnesses and chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension. There are paediatricians as well so you and your tot can skip queues at the doc’s.

For issues where privacy is an issue, the telemedicine app allows you to hold your consultations in the seclusion of your home. Meet with a licensed psychologist if you’re facing mental wellness issues, or seek advice on sexual wellness and health with a GP.

The app also has Japanese doctors available for expats who may have difficulty finding doctors to give diagnoses in their native tongue. All patients have to do is book a virtual consultation from the app to be connected with the next available doctor for an immediate medical appointment.

Once the consult is over, medical certificates will be sent over via email so you can submit them to your HR to claim medical leave asap. As for patients that require medication for their ailments, they’ll be delivered right to your doorstep within three hours or the next day, based on your preferences.

Download the app from Healthway Medical.

Services: Video consultations with GPs, paediatricians & psychologists, medication delivery, in-clinic appointment booking
Fees: $20 for video consultation + drug delivery, $15 for drug refill + delivery (additional $10 for delivery to Sentosa and restricted areas)*
