What to buy from Mustafa
Even if you’ve never stepped foot in Mustafa before, chances are you’ve heard of the sheer size of this shopping mecca. Getting lost in this mini shopping mall isn’t even a bad thing considering the endless rows of things to look at. Electronics, clothing, jewellery, and groceries are just some to expect.
If you’re the type that gets stressed over too many choices – this will be a problem here, trust us – here’s a list of unique snacks and cheap groceries to look out for at Mustafa.

Ajmir Store Muruku
Hidden amongst rows and rows of muruku, this unassuming brand is one of the best I’ve ever tried. Crunchy with just the right kick of spice, it’s super addictive and only $3.50. There’s even a non-spicy version that kids will love and if you’re after extra cronch, the round variation will satisfy you.
Kayamila Kaya Spreads
While you may have spotted this brand of kaya at Fairprice, it’s worthwhile to note that only Mustafa carries not only the original flavour but also Sea-Salt Caramel, Vanilla Pandan and Calamansi Citrus.
We heard that the Calamansi Citrus ($3.50) flavour is worth a try – the light tangy citrus melds well with the creamy kaya and can even be used as a tart filling!
Chheda’s Long Masala Banana
Sweet banana chips + spicy masala = an unlikely match, but we only have one thing to say and that’s don’t knock it till you try it. For a generous bag at $2.50, this will fast become your next favourite late-night snack.
Banana Cake
In a little corner of Mustafa’s in-house bakery sits this brandless banana cake. We gave it a try for $2 and we’re happy to report that it tasted pretty similar to its popular sibling in JB and was surprisingly fluffy with a good aroma of bananas. None of that artificial banana flavouring here!
Pro tip: Toast a slice in the oven for that “freshly-baked” feel and to bring out its sweetness.
ChocoDate
Essentially what you get when you shove an almond into a date and coat it in chocolate, it makes for a healthy treat if you’re trying to curb your sugar cravings. It comes in milk, white and dark chocolate as well as two different sizes – 100G ($3.20) and 250G ($7.50).
Hunter Pappadums
Anybody who’s been to a legit Indian restaurant knows that the free pappadum that they serve before your meal is the best part. Now you can have this crispy, protein-filled snack in a convenient tube for $2.30. Choose from a variety of flavours like Simply Cumin, Green Chili Garlic, Crushed Black Pepper, and Kashmiri Red Chili if you like some kick.
Califia Farms Cold Brew Coffee
One of the best finds at Mustafa, this popular brand from the US sells coffee and other beverages using only plant-based milks from almonds, oats and coconuts. This almond milk cold brew ($4.50) is super smooth and can’t really be found in regular supermarkets.
Suncoast Gold Macadamia Milk
You’ve probably seen soy and almond milk readily available in supermarkets but macadamia milk would probably be a rare sight. Going for $3.90, this creamy, non-dairy alternative can be used in your coffees, oatmeal and my favourite, smoothies.
Anchor Colby & Cheddar Shredded Cheese
If you ever needed a 1KG bag of cheese, Mustafa’s the place you’ll want to be. A 200G pack that’s typically sold in supermarkets costs roughly $5.95 while this huge pack costs $20.90. That saves you $8.85 just by buying this instead of 5 small bags.
Sarva Himalayan Pink Salt
An atas version of table salt, pink Himalayan salt has been gaining popularity over its regular counterpart. It’s beneficial as it boasts more minerals compared to normal salt and has a lesser sodium content too.
This resealable bag we found at Mustafa was only $1.50 for 500G, which is way cheaper than what you can find in supermarkets where a 100G grinder can cost upwards of $7.
Tarall’oro Pasta
One of the best finds at Mustafa is this naturally flavoured pasta from Italy at only $2.90 – something that can’t be found in regular supermarkets in Singapore. Step up your weekday pasta nights with the Farfalle Al Funghi Porcini and Fusilli Ortolano Ciuffo.
The former is flavoured with porcini mushrooms and the latter with beetroot, tomato, spinach and basil.
Snacks and groceries from Mustafa
Mustafa is a never-ending complex filled with treasures waiting to be found. Spend a couple of hours trawling the mall and you’ll find your basket filling up without even realising.
